Abstract
463,349. Collapsable tubes. ETABLISSEMENTS BETTS ET BLANCHARD. March 20, 1936, Nos. 8409 and 8410. Convention dates, March 25, 1935 and Nov. 13, 1935. [Class 125 (iii)] A measuring valve for use with collapsable tubes comprises a tubular valve member B open at one end H and having at the other end a flange K and radial holes G. The member is adapted to slide in the nozzle of the tube F with the flange inside the tube. If with the valve in the position shown in Fig. 2 the tube is pressed, some of the contents pass through holes G into the valve and out through the open end H, the pressure on the tube also serving to move the valve to the position shown in Fig. 1 in which the flange seats against the end of the tube and further discharge is prevented. When the usual cap is screwed on to the tube the valve is restored to its former position. In a modified form, Fig. 8, the cap 3 screws on to the end of the valve which after removal of the cap must be pressed inwardly before the material can be discharged.
