Abstract

370,398. Collapsable tubes. MARSHMAN, J. O., 44, Priory Road, West Hampstead, London, and RONEO, Ltd., Machine Factory, Romford, Essex. Jan. 2, 1931, No. 193. [Class 125 (iii).] A valve nozzle for collapsable tubes &c., which is adapted to open when pressed upon a surface, comprises two telescoping members 5, 10, Fig. 1, one 5 of which is fixed on the outlet of the tube 1 and supports the second member 10, which has an outlet, the two members being separated by a spring. The member 10, which is of cup-like form, slides in an annular recess between the two concentric parts 3, 3<1>, Fig. 2, of the member 5, and has screwed into it a valve 6, provided with an outlet passage 8 opening into a transverse passage 9. A spring 11, surrounding the valve, normally holds the head 7 of the valve seated against a flange on the part 3<1> of the member 5, and the valve opens when the member 10 is pressed in.
