Abstract

312,291. Straussler, N. Dec. 24, 1027. Stoppers with valves.-A closure for collapsable tubes &c. comprises a valve chamber B in which is located a plunger consisting of a valve member C normally held closed and carrying a rod or spindle D having an enlarged head d<1> adapted to be protruded beyond the cap A to pass small quantities of fluid when pressure is applied to the underside of the valve member by squeezing the tube or otherwise. A spiral spring F returns the plunger to its normal closed position when the pressure is released. In a modification, the valve chamber is integral with the tube and the valve member C abuts against a flange which, after the insertion of the plunger, is inturned by engagement with an annular groove on a mandrel.
