Abstract

283,427. Elliott, F. D. July 21, 1927. Stoppers with valves. -A dispensing head 3 for collapsable tubes and other containers is formed with an outlet passage 6 which leads into a recessed portion 4 surrounded by an annular bead 5. The passage is closed by a valve 7 sliding in a transverse slot 10 in the head and normally held in the closed position by a spring 13 which projects through a slot 9 in the valve adjacent its free end and is secured at its other end in a V-shaped recess 16 in the head. Pressure of the finger or thumb on the free end of the spring opens the aperture, the spring returning the valve to its closed position when the pressure is removed. The forward edge 8 of the valve is bevelled to cut off cleanly the flow of the contents.
