Abstract
463,236. Thermionic valves. TELEFUNKEN GES. FUR DRAHTLOSE TELEGRAPHIE. Aug. 17, 1936, No. 22660. Convention date, Aug. 15, 1935. [Class 39 (i)] In a magnetron oscillator the inner or outer conductor of the resonant system consists of two tubes of the same diameter arranged end to end, the adjacent ends of each tube being cut away to form one or more overlapping segments separated by a gap and forming a divided anode system. As shown in Fig. 2, the outer conductor consists of two tubes R<1>1, R<11>1 cut away to form segments S<1>, S<11> surrounding a filament K connected between inner conductors R2. Bridges B<1>, B2 which insulate for D.C. potentials, consist of discs separated insulation. Discs P<1>, P<11>, mounted on the conductors R<2>, collect electrons moved axially by the magnetic field. The envelope is formed by the conductors R<11>1, R<1>1 with glass caps K<1>, a glass or quartz tube G, and conical metal rings M<1>; or the system may be enclosed in a separate envelope. In a modification, Fig. 3, the tubes R<1>1, R<11>1 form the inner conductor, and the outer conductor consists of two tubes R12, R<11>2 spaced by a glass ring G, the bridges B<1> forming part of the envelope.
