Abstract

462,816. Reversing; pumps. KRUPP GERMANIAWERFT AKT.-GES., F. Oct. 26, 1936, No. 29030. Convention date, Dec. 21, 1935. [Classes 7 (ii) and 7 (v)] In a reversible Diesel engine having one or more engine-driven rotary blowers a arranged to run idly when the engine is reversed, a rotary valve q normally connects the admission conduit p of the engine to the delivery side m of the blower . The valve q is connected to the reversing gear of the engine so that, on reversal, it connects the conduit p and the side m of the blower to the air inlet n, so that the blower runs idly and the engine draws in air at atmospheric pressure through the inlet n and the conduit p. The shaft e of the blower or blowers is driven from the engine cam shaft.
