Abstract
462,393. Water - tube steam boilers. LEWIS, W. Y. Sept. 9, 1935, No. 25072. [Class 123 (ii)] In a Field-tube boiler the inner tubes 3a are secured in groups to separately removable curved bars or plates B forming the bottom of a trough A extending along the drum. The bars are arranged longitudinally of the trough and they are supported with their inclined edges abutting in the manner of an inverted arch between flanges 13 carrying set-screws 14. The inner tubes of Field-tubes forming end-wall screens are secured to curved sectional plates at the bottom of transverse extensions of the trou gh.
