364,861. Water-tube steam boilers gilled tubes for heat exchangers. DIETERLEN, H., 3, Rue Pierre Ducreux, Paris. Jan. 20, 1931, No. 1849. Convention date, Jan. 21, 1930. [Classes 64 (i), 64 (iii), and 123 (ii).] The tubes 7 of a water-tube boiler, economizer or like heat exohanger are provided with longitudinal fins 8 which increase in depth from one end to the other. The tubes may be so inclined to one another that the edges of adjacent fins are parallel to one another. The fins terminate short of the ends of the tubes. According to the Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a), the rear tubes of a Stirling type boiler are formed with longitudinal ribs of uniform width, and the tubes of an economizer are formed with longitudinal ribs which may extend the whole length of each of the tubes. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
