[Class 23] [Also in Group XIII] A centrifugal separator for removing gas and vapour from the liquid used in an engine cooling system consists of a cylinder 1 with a tangential inlet 6 and outlet 7 for liquid, both extending over a considerable length of the wall of the cylinder, and an outlet 8 for gas &c. in one end of the cylinder. The crosssection of the outlet for the liquid is smaller than the inlet therefor.-
