Abstract
460,703. Regulating. BRANDENBURGISCHE MOTORENWERKE GES. Oct. 21, 1936, No. 28666. Convention date, Oct. 23, 1935. [Class 7 (vi)] A multistage blower for charging aircraft engines is provided with a rotary valve 7 which may be adjusted counter - clockwise from the position shown in the Figure, in which the inlet of air from the valve 7 to the suction conduit of the fan 1 is cut off and air is supplied through a restricted opening to the conduit 5 leading to the second fan 2, so that as the valve is thus adjusted, the opening leading to the conduit 5 is increased until it is wide open, after which it begins to reduce again, and the inlet to the conduit 4 is gradually opened, until finally the conduit 5 is cut off from the interior of the valve, and the conduit 4 is fully open, in which all the air supplied passes through both fans and the full output is obtained.
