Abstract

The turbo-charger has a thermostat (13) located in the discharge duct (6). This operates the valve (14) which connects with one side of the diaphragm in the valve (10). The valve operates the poppet (8) in the intake to the turbine (1). The turbine is directly coupled to the compressor (4). The valve (8) is connected to a bypass line (7) to bypass the turbine. The thermostat operates on compressor discharge temperature which is related to the pressure, to reduce the speed of the compressor on excessive discharge pressure.
