Abstract

460,648. Control systems for electric incandescent lamps with cut-outs. NOMOTO, Z. April 26, 1935, No. 12591. Void. Convention date, May 1, 1934. [Class 38 (iv)] [Also in Group XI] Series systems.-The circuit through a number of lamps in series is made and broken intermittently by a thermal switch arranged in the bulb of one of the lamps so as to break the circuit therethrough in response to the heating up of the lamp filament. The group of series connected lamps may be paralleled by one or more further groups with or without flashing lamps and the bulbs of the groups are arranged alternately to produce the required decorative effect. The stem 9 of the flashing lamp carries a conductor 10 connected to one end of the filament 13, the other end of which is connected to a conducting member 12 sealed into the stem 9. The member 12 carries a bi-metallic arm 14 which contacts with a conducting bar 15 connected through the stem to the other lamp terminal. When the lamp heats up, the strip 14 bends and opens the circuit.
