460,551. Hydraulic apparatus. SOC. D'INVENTIONS AERONAUTIQUES ET MECANIQUES S. I. A. M. April 22, 1936, No. 11503. Convention date; April 30, 1935. [Class 69 (ii)] [Also in Group XXVIII] A hydraulic control device particularly adapted for controlling the clutch levers of variable pitch air screws and of the kind in which a mobile member, such as a piston, is subject to the action of two opposed springs for returning it to its mid-position, has one of the springs 4 arranged to bear against a small cup 6, which allows said spring to be compressed when the piston travels in the direction f, but which when the piston travels in the other direction prevents the expansion of the spring by the engagement with a stop 9 at the end of a tie rod passing through the spring and cup to the end of the cylinder where it is secured at 8. The other spring 5 bears against the flange 10<b> of a sleeve 10 which allows the spring to be compressed when the piston moves in the direction f<1>, but which when the piston travels in the opposite direction prevents the expansion of the spring by the engagement of a flange 10a with a flange 11<a> on a fixed sleeve 11 over which the first sleeve telescopes. The -piston rod passes through both these sleeves and is made tubular at the end to receive the rod 7 when the piston moves in the direction f.
