Abstract

214,826. Williams, L. W. April 24, 1923. Rod couplings. - In rod couplings for railway points &c., of the kind comprising two parallel sliding members 1, 2 within a coil spring 3 and means on said members engaging the ends of the spring to compress same when the members are pulled in opposite directions, the spring is held in position at each end by a cotter 4, which is fixed in one member and slidable in a slot in the other member and vice versa. The member 2 is provided with an adjustable connection 6 for the points, while the member 1 has a connection 7 to the point rodding from the cabin which also may be provided with an adjusting device. A protective casing 9 for the spring, which may be held in place by a split pin 10, is provided.
