Abstract
460,336. Tube connectors. AMICK, J. H. Dec. 24, 1935, No. 35693. [Class 99 (i)] A connector for a rubber covered metal &c. tube 1 comprises a nipple 3, a ferrule 5, and a sleeve 4, the latter being in screwthreaded engagement with the nipple and formed with a flange 13 to engage a shoulder 14 on the ferrule. The end of the rubber cover 2 is secured to the ferrule by a clamp 7, and a compressible gasket 6 is preferably interposed between tapered surfaces 12, 17 on the nipple and ferrule respectively. The nipple is provided with a tube receiving recess 11 having a tapered wall, and the bore 15 of the ferrule is made sufficiently large to permit the tube to oscillate with respect to the connector.
