Abstract

534,235. Hose pipe connections. AUTOMOTIVE PRODUCTS CO., Ltd., and CLENCH, E. C. S. Sept. 1, 1939, No. 25091. [Class 99 (i)] A hose end fitting 14 is secured to the hose 24 by squeezing the latter between inner and outer tubular members 15, 10 and providing a packing ring 21 between radial surfaces on the tubular members to prevent access of fluid to the hose end face. The sleeve 10 screws into the fitting 14 the end of which may be upset at 31. A flange 22 on the tube 15 engages a shoulder 19 on the sleeve and the packing ring 21 is housed in the recess formed between the sleeve, tube and fitting. The fitting may be integral with the sleeve and the shoulder 19 may be formed in the process of swaging the sleeve on to the hose.
