Abstract
460,199. Valve amplifying circuits. BROWN, A. J., and BAIRD TELEVISION, Ltd. July 22, 1935, No. 20744. [Class 40 (v)] A push-pull pair of short-wave amplifiers feeds a load circuit by a pair of quarter-wavelength conductors connected between the valve cathodes and earth. As shown, a push-pull pair of valves 3, 4 feeds the grids 5, 6 of the output pair of valves 1, 2. The plates of these valves are directly connected together and to the positive terminal of the supply source, the negative terminal being connected to the outer ends of two parallel wires 11, 12 which are a quarter-wavelength long and are connected at their other ends to the cathodes of the valves 1, 2. These wires form the output impedance of the valves 1, 2 and power is taken off therefrom to an aerial or feeder pair 13, 14 by adjustable sliders. The valves 1, 2 are neutralized by capacities 9, 10 connected between each grid and the opposite cathode. A condenser 15 may be provided to facilitate tuning.
