Abstract
458,879. Valve amplifying circuits; television receivers. GENERAL ELECTRIC CO., Ltd., Magnet House, Kingsway, London, and EDWARDS, G. W., and ESPLEY, D. C., c/o General Electric Co., Ltd., Wembley, Middlesex. Nov. 1, 1935, No. 30223. [Classes 40 (iii) and 40 (v)] An indirectly heated diode valve 7, used for separating synchronizing from picture signals and connected between the anode 5 of an amplifier 3 and a point on an H.T. supply potentiometer 18, introduces a stray capacity across the signal load resistance 12 due to the capacity of the heater winding 16 to earth. In order to minimize this effect a resistance 17 is connected between the cathode 6 of diode 7 and the said winding, the resistance being large compared with the resistance 12 but small compared with the insulation resistance between the heater 15 and the cathode.
