Abstract

484,202. Valve circuits for wireless reception. KALLMANN, H. E., and SPENCER, R. E. Sept. 30, 1936, No. 26474. [Class 40 (v)] A.V.C. voltages are derived from a television signal by displacing the synchronizing impulses so that the minimum amplitude of the resulting signal corresponds to minimum vision modulation and deriving a voltage corresponding to said minimum amplitude. The complete signal from the cathode resistance 21 of a V.F. amplifier 11 is applied through condenser 23 to the grid 26 of a valve 27 and also through resistance 31 to the grid 36 of valve 37. The valve 27 produces phase reversed synchronizing impulses at its anode which are applied through condenser 29 to the grid of valve 37 where they more than balance out the synchronizing impulses fed through resistance 31. Gain controlling voltage is taken from the cathode of valve 37 through filter 51, 53, 55, a diode 48, 49 being provided to prevent the production of positive control voltage. D.C. insertion may be provided in valve 27 by the method described in Specification 422,906.
