Abstract

458,449. Valve amplifying circuits. MARCONI'S WIRELESS TELEGRAPH CO., Ltd., Electra House, Victoria Embankment, London, and WRIGHT, G. M., Broom Hall, Woodham Ferrers, Essex. June 21, 1935, No. 17927. [Class 40 (v)] In an amplifier distortion components are separated out in the output circuit at a point which is at constant potential when no distortion is present and applied subsequently to compensate for the distortion. The Figure shows a potentiometer 7, 8 connected between a tapping 6 on the output 5 and the grid of the valve 3 so that a distortion component equal to 1/2m of the output of the valve 3 is applied to an auxiliary valve 11 where m is the magnification of the valve 3. The valve 11 is chosen to have a magnification 2m so that its output combined with the output of the valve 3 by a high resistance potentiometer 14, 15 compensates for the distortion.
