420,074. Valve amplifying circuits. MARCONI'S WIRELESS TELEGRAPH CO., Ltd., Electra House, Victoria Embankment, DOWSETT, H. M., 47, Drayton Gardens, Winchmore Hill, and GOODENOUGH, E. F., 383, Watford Way, Hendon, all in London. April 24, 1933, No. 11959. [Class 40 (v)] A neon tube 5, or other load which cannot be readily matched to a valve, is connected in parallel with one output valve 3 of an amplifier and in series with another 4, and the signals are applied to the grids of the valves in opposite phase. The neon tube is connected across resistances 9, 10 which provide grid bias for the valve 4. The signals applied to the valve 4 are reversed in phase by passing them through an extra valve 2. According to modifications : the output valves are in series, and the choke 7 and resistance 8 in series with the neon tube are isolated from direct current by a condenser ; transformers are used for phase reversal, Figs. 5 and 6 (not shown).
