Abstract
458,045. Ventilating - fans. WOODS, M. G., Windifan Works, Colchester. Aug. 30, 1935, No. 24285. [Class 110 (i)] [See also Groups X and XXXIV] A ventilating-fan 2 with electric motor 1 is mounted on arms 10 carried by a frame 3 which is provided with overlapping louvres 6 and hinged to a frame 4 mounted in the wall. The louvres are set at about 46‹ to the horizontal. A grille 7 is put on the inside of the cavity. When the frame 3 is mounted to swing inwards, the louvres 6 are placed on the outside of frame 4 and the grille 7 on the inside of frame 3. The louvres may be connected together and adjusted by a rod or cord. For a cavity wall, the grille openings in the inner part are out of register with the frame opening in the outer wall, partitions being placed in the cavity to confine the air flow. The motor bearing, of the self-lubricating type, Fig. 5, comprises a sleeve 12 with flange 14 locked by a screwed ring 13 secured by a spring ring 17 ; an oil reservoir 18 around the sleeve 12 carries a ring 19 of felt, wool, &c.
