Abstract

476,724. Screw fans. VENT-AXIA, Ltd., and AKESTER, J. C. April 29, 1937, No. 12246. [Class 110 (i)] A screw-fan ventilator has an open-ended housing 1 with threaded spigot 2 flanged at 3 and receiving a threaded clamp ring 8, the fan unit being mounted in spider 13 detachably secured to the spigot. The spigot when inserted in a window aperture is clamped by flange 3 and ring 8, felt packing 20 being used if required. The-spider 13 is secured by studs 6 and carries an inner housing 12 with cap 22 for the motor 9. A deflector disc 17 and rings 16 are secured by bolts 7 and distance sleeves 18 to the front of the housing 1. The housings may be made of metal or synthetic resin. The fan blades may be of the form shown in Specification 429,958, [Group XXXIII].
