Abstract

1,125,075. Centrifugal fans. SVENSKA LUFTFILTER A.B., April 12, 1967, No. 16824/67. Heading F1C. A fan for supplying air at both low pressure and high pressure comprises a housing 2 divided by a partition 5 into an L.P. chamber 6 and an H.P. chamber 7 having L.P. and H.P. outlets (not shown) respectively, a shaft 9 of an electric motor 8 or other external driving means extending through an opening 15 in the partition 5, an L.P. impeller 11 mounted on the shaft in the chamber 6, and at least one H.P. impeller (e.g. two impellers 12, 13) mounted on the shaft in the chamber 7 for receiving air from the L.P. impeller through the opening 15, the L.P. impeller being of substantially smaller diameter and of substantially smaller width than the H.P. impeller or impellers so that a greater air flow is delivered through the L. P, outlet than through the H.P. outlet. The air passes from the impeller 12 to the impeller 13 via radially extending vanes 18 which support an inner casing 16 surrounding the impeller 13. A disc (23), Fig. 1 (not shown) is mounted in front of the inlet 10 for protection and to act as a sound absorber.
