[Class 110 (i)] A screw fan b is mounted on the boss o of a spider n having a rim i externally lined with vibration-absorbing material l such as rubber and secured in an internal seating formed in a tubular casing a. The rim may be retained by a pre-formed shoulder k and a projection m formed by spinning, pressing, or indenting, or projections m may be formed on both sides of the seating. In a modification, the rim is retained between the shoulder k and an annular flange separate from the casing and retained by the bolts g which secure the casing a and outlet d to the support c.
