Abstract

188,547. Millington, W. E. W. Nov. 28, 1921. Casings.-The casing of a centrifugal pump is so constructed that the centrifugal parts b and the stationary internal parts a with the delivery endcover c of the pump can be withdrawn from the suction end without disturbing the casing h. The delivery end-cover c is shouldered and faced at f to abut against the annular margin g of the casing h. The parts are held by nuts i upon studs j secured to the flange k of the casing and passed through the flange m of the suction end-cover d. A soft packing ring n is placed between the flanges k, m. In the modification the housing s is not removable with the bearing but is supported by arms from the casing h.
