Abstract

378,615. Rotary fans. WEBSTER, R. K., 7, Purley Downs Road, Purley, Surrey. July 10, 1931, No. 19891. [Class 110 (i).] Rotary fans for pneumatic delivery systems and other purposes have a casing 1 with a centrifugal fan 13 adjacent the end with the central suction aperture 4, and another fan 16 adjacent the other end with a volute 18 and discharge outlet 19. The electric driving motor 5 is arranged between the fans and is supported by lugs 8 from diaphragms 7, 11. The former 7 is carried by extensions 9 of a ring 10 secured to the casing, so that air from the fan 13 passes round the diaphragm into the central chamber ; the latter 11 is mounted by means of a rubber ring 12 and has a central aperture 17 through which air passes from the central chamber to the fan 16. The casing 1 may be lined with sound insulating material such as cork, rubber or the lilie.
