Abstract

286,127. Rawding, C. June 24, 1927. Fan apparatus; casings.- An organ blower has an inner casing b containing a rotary fail and an outer casing a; the space between the two casings comprises suction ducts f<1>, and a duct leading to the discharge outlet f. The spindle m is supported in pedestals o and is driven by the motor g. The spindle carries impellers c having curved blades fixed between two discs, and rotating in chambers formed in the inner casing b by partitions h. The disc on the inlet side of each impeller has an annular flange which projects into the central aperture of the corresponding partition h. In the form shown, the outer casing a is octagonal in form and is supported so that it can readily be moved angularly to bring the delivery outlet to the position for connection to the wind trunk. Air is drawn in through the perforated plate d at the end removed from the motor, passes between the casings to the suction end i<1>, and then through the blower to the discharge outlet f. Owing to the arrangement of the ducts f<1> cool air is drawn into the blower, and noise from the blower is diminished. In a modification, a single, impeller only is employed.
