409,626. Fans. BRITISH THOMSONHOUSTON CO., Ltd., Crown House, Aldwych, London.-(Assignees of Morse, H. F. ; 39, Pequot Road, Southport, Connecticut, U.S.A.) Dec. 13, 1933, No. 35095. Convention date, Dec. 20, 1932. [Class 110 (i).] A fan comprises semi-conical cups 10 which are mounted on arms 11. For centrifugal fans, the cups are inclined at an angle of 30‹ to the radial arms 11 and at an angle of 8‹ to the plane of the arms. For screw fans the cups are inclined at an angle of 8‹ to the arms and at an angle of 30‹ to the plane of the arms. To obtain a diverging columns of air the cups are mounted so that the diameters c, d are inclined as shown. The fan may be mounted in a canopy, air being drawn in through openings 19 and discharged as a diverging column through openings 18.
