Abstract

401,425. Screw fans. VILLAMIL, R. DE, 18, Priory Road, Kilburn, London. July 7, 1932, No. 19228. [Class 110 (i).] A screw fan is provided with an annular deflector immediately in front thereof, the deflector having a taper form with its inner surface convex toward its axis and its narrow end directed toward the fan. The convex surface may bo formed by the revolution of a parabola, hyperbola or cycloid about its axis. The casing C is embodied in the supporting wall of the fan member. According to Provisional Specification the deflector need not completely surround the shaft but may be cut away at convenient points.
