493,255. Screw propellers. DORNIER - WERKE GES., (formerly DORNIERMETALLBAUTEN GES.), and DORNIER, C. Feb. 1, 1938, No. 3142. Convention date, March 20,1937. [Class 114] The blades of a metal screw propeller are formed with a metal skeleton 1, having a central longitudinal rib 2, side ribs 3, 4 conforming to the outside shape of the blade and meeting the central rib 2 at the top, whilst there are intermediate inclined ribs 5 at an angle alpha to the rib 2 forming spaces 6. The skeleton so formed is covered with sheets on the outer surface. The area of the metal skeleton is less than the area of the spaces between the parts.
