439,471. Screw propellers. SMITH, J. H., Homelea, Mead Road, Livermead, Torquay. June 28, 1935, No. 18497. [Class 114] The blades of a screw propeller are constructed with a constant pitch A, Fig. 3, at the leading edge of the propelling face and at the after edge the pitch along the portion B, B1, Fig. 1, is constant and of a value B greater than A, the pitch from C to the tip C1 is constant and of a value C greater than B and in the intermedial length B1 C the pitch changes progressively from a value B to a value C.
