Abstract

480,036. Axial-flow fans. STEWART, F. C. Nov. 9, 1936, No. 30456. [Class 110 (i)] In an axial-flow fan unit, for circulating air &c. in refrigerated spaces, the impeller is supported from a plate 3 by a tube 10 surrounding the impeller shaft 11 and reinforced by webs 14 which extend along its entire length. The shaft bearings are mounted in housings 15, 16 attached to the tube 10. The webs 14 support the housing 13 for the impeller 2 which may have fairings 17, 18 incorporated on the impeller 2 and tube 10. A plug 8 of insulation is attached to the plate 3.
