Abstract

386,039. Screw fans. ADAMCIKAS, M. and MASSERA, G., Astor House, Aldwych, London. Sept. 10, 1931, No. 25436. [Class 110 (i).] A screw fan with relative large hub is provided with a shroud 9 which is shaped inside so that the outer profile of the hub and the inner profile of the shroud are in axial cross section similar to a Venturi nozzle the vane space being enlarged towards the outlet relatively both to the throat and also to the inlet of the Venturi formation. The fan works in a close-fitting casing 10. When the fan is employed for cooling an electromotor it is fixed on the shaft 11 adjacent to the end bracket 15 in which the shaft works in roller bearings and the outlet of the fan is in communication with the gap between the armature and the stator.
