Abstract

1,191,110. Centrifugal compressors. CKD PRAHA, OBOROVY PODNIK. Oct. 13, 1967, No.46781/67. Heading F1C. In a centrifugal compressor an overhung impeller is mounted on a fixed journal 2 carried by a removably-attached casing partition, e.g. a cover 4, and a driving shaft passes through the fixed journal and is attached to the impeller hub as by splines 7 and pin 8. The journal carries a layer of bearing metal 2'. A flange 9 on the shaft co-operates with a thrust bearing 10. Bearing lubricant is supplied through a duct 12. The impeller, cover and thrust bearing form a separate unit which can be secured to the compressor casing by bolts.
