[Class 135] A rotary plug valve member a is provided with an annular cavity a<1>, which serves as a reservoir for lubricant, around the stem a<2>. This reservoir communicates through passages g<2> and g<3> with peripheral grooves g, g<1>, respectively, in the surface of the plug. The lubricant is supplied through a central hole a<4> in the stem which is normally closed by a screw f which also serves to secure the handle e. The reservoir is closed by a cap c screwed or otherwise secured onto the top of the plug. Specification 439,693 is referred to.
