462,361. Valves. ADERHOLD, J. E. Sept. 5, 1935, No. 24816. Convention date, Sept. 21, 1934. [Class 135] A lubricated plug valve comprises a valve member 24 having a stem 26 extending from its larger end with a reduced portion 56 providing a shoulder 58 for a thrust bearing 64 for keeping the plug onto its seating against the pressure of the lubricant to lift it. A stuffing-box 30 is provided on the stem 24 between the plug and the thrust bearing and a lubricant reservoir 50 in the plug stem, leading to passages 44, 48, 46, is provided for supplying the lubricant under pressure, by means of a screw 52, to the seating surfaces of the plug.
