Abstract
455,015. Pressure-regalating valves. AULD & SONS, Ltd., D., and GRAHAM, J., Whitevale Foundry, Rowchester Street, Glasgow. April 13, 1935, No. 11515. [Class 135] A pressure-regulating valve of the kind having a main valve actuated by fluid pressure under the control of an auxiliary valve, has the auxiliary formed as a balanced lift valve actuated by a spring-loaded bellows. The bellows 12 is clamped against the lower side of the valve casing to form an actuating chamber and a cover 8 is secured to the other side to form an exhaust chamber. The control valve 16 is coupled to the bellows by a spindle 17 having an enlarged balancing part 18 working in the ported seat liner 5. The part of the casing surrounding the central part of the liner is recessed to form a chamber 26 communicating on the one hand with the actuating chamber of the main valve and on the other through a right-angled passage controlled by a needle valve 32 with the inside of the bellows. This space is connected by another right-angled passage with a pipe leading to the low pressure side of the main valve.
