Abstract

276,142. Dewrance, Sir J. Aug. 17, 1926. Pressure regulating valves.-A pressure regulating valve of the kind controlled by an auxiliary valve has the main valve actuated by a piston working in a cylinder suspended from the valve casing. The piston p which is exposed on its outer face to atmosphere works in a U-leather packing h' and is coupled to the main valve k by a two part spindle l. The spindle passes loosely through a hole in a partition m in the cylinder which is normally maintained full of water so that the movements of the piston are damped by liquid passing through the narrow space between the spindle and the edge of the hole in the partition.
