April 9, 1935, No. 10964. [Class 38 (ii)] [See also Group XL] In amplifying systems designed for a wide frequency range, interference between amplifiers such as low-frequency feed-back is prevented by providing the rectifier with a plurality of anodes (or cathodes), associated with a single cathode (or anode), the anodes each supplying different amplifiers while the single cathode is common to the supply of all the amplifiers. Arrangements are described of single phase rectifiers with one or more cathodes connected to one end of the transformer secondary and co-operating with three anodes as one structure, Fig. 1 (not shown) ; another arrangement of single phase rectifiers has the anodes all connected to one end of the transformer secondary, and cooperating with three cathodes disposed according to current requirements, Fig. 2 (not shown). Figs. 3 and 4 show full wave rectifier arrangements ; in Fig. 3, three anodes A1, A2, A3 co-operate with two cathodes C0, A3 acting as a shield between the cathodes which are connected between opposite ends of the secondary of the transformer. Fig. 4 shows a full-wave assembly in which the anodes A0 are connected to each end of the secondary, the cathodes C1, C2, C3 feeding separate amplifiers. Screens S are provided as shown.
