Abstract

359,587. Mercury-vapour rectifiers. BRITISH THOMSON-HOUSTON CO., Ltd., Crown House, Aldwych, London.-(General Electric Co. ; Schenectady, New York, U.S.A.) July 29, 1930, No. 22833. [Class 39 (i).] A deionizing screen consists of carbon or carboncoated bars located within the anode shield in proximity to the anode surface. Bars 2 radiate from a perforated hub 1 and are loosely supported in brackets 3 on the shield 4 to eliminate stresses due to heating. In modifications, the bars extend radially inward from the shield or pass across the inside of the shield from side to side.
