[Class 39 (i)] In a mercury arc rectifier the capacity between the control grid, which is located nearest the anode, and the surrounding shield is increased by the provision of plate- or washer-shaped elements on the grid and the shield. Further elements may be formed also between one or more additional grids and the shield. A baffle may be provided in the shield below the grid, which may be suspended from the anode insulator or from the shield. Specifications 374,217 and 378,748 are referred to.
