369,038. Valve supply circuits. MEYER, F., 28, Tile Wardenbergstrasse, Berlin. April 22, 1931, No. 11972. Convention date, April 26, 1930. [Classes 39 (i) and 40 (v).] Biasing voltages for anodes, screen grids and space charge grids of thermionic valves are obtained from a voltage-doubling rectifier current, the anodes of initial stages and the auxiliary grids deriving their voltage from across one of the voltage-doubling condensers, while the final stages are supplied from the double voltage source. In Fig. 2 the rectifiers 2, 3 are supplied from the alternating source 1, the full voltage, smoothed by choke 13 and condenser 17, being obtained from the terminals 10, 11, while the lower voltage, smoothed by choke 14 and condenser 18, is taken from terminals 10, 12, The chokes may be mounted on a single core, Fig. 3 (not shown); the rectifier valve and/or condenser on the negative side of the rectifier, or both, may be larger than those on the positive side and the valves may be housed in one envelope as shown in Fig. 4. The connection of the anode 25 to the other cathode 22 is made within or just outside the pinch. Specification 288,396, [Class 40 (v), Wireless signalling &c.], is referred to.
