[Classes 38 (ii) and 38 (iv) A rectifying arrangement for providing different D.C. voltages for application to the electrodes of an electron multiplier comprises a valve having two or more anodes Al, Ah to which different voltages are applied by transformers Sl, Sh and which co-oporate with a common cathode K. The lower voltage anodes may be perforated and disposed between the high voltage anode and the cathode.
