Abstract
418,804. Rectifying alternating current. SIEMENS-SCHUCKERTWERKE AKT.-GES., Siemensstadt, Berlin. April 27, 1934, No. 12782. Convention date, Aug. 28, 1933. [Class 38 (ii).] In a grid-controlled rectifier 1, the potentials applied to the grids 7 for initiating discharge at the associated anodes are derived from the circuits of the exciter anodes 4. In the arrangement shown, the grid circuits, which include an auxiliary D.C. source 8, are coupled by transformers 6 with the secondary circuits of regulating transformers 5 feeding the exciter anodes. The grid circuits may, however, be conductively or capacitatively coupled to the exciter anode circuits.
