454,111. Furnaces with coking chambers. INTERNATIONAL FURNACE EQUIPMENT CO., Ltd., and BAILLY, L., Imperia Works, Clement Street, Parade, Birmingham. June 27, 1935, No. 18398. [Class 51 (i)] A kiln or like fireplace comprises a combustion chamber a with an inclined step grate c at the front enclosed by a door d and fed with fuel from a coking chamber e separated by its base h from the combustion chamber and provided at f with a discharge opening. The coking chamber is closed at the front by a door i. Air for secondary combustion is supplied through a passage or passages n on one or both sides of the fireplace to the outlet passage m of the combustion chamber. The coking and combustion chambers may communicate by passages g in the base h or by side passages (not shown).
