Abstract

453,688. Window regulators. SCHOFIELD,L., 65, Mount Pleasant Road, Willesden, London. Jan. 11, 1936, No. 1007. [Class 20 (iii)] Mechanism for operating ventilator and like windows comprises a lazy-tongs device connected to a control device of the pull- and-push type. At the sash-engaging ends, the tong levers 1, 2, are fitted with rollers 6, running in a slide 7 secured to the sash 4, while at the other end the member 1 is pivotally secured to a non-slidable sleeve 9 mounted in a bracket 10 on the frame 5, and the member 2 is pivotally secured to a similar sleeve 12 screwed to a tube 13 free to slide along a bar 11 attached to the sleeve 9. The end of the tube 13 is secured to a control device, such as a flexible cable 14 connected with the rod 16 of a distant-control slide 19. In the modification shown in Fig. 3, for the simultaneous operation of a number of windows, the sleeves 12 are fixed to' a slidable bar 11 which passes through the sleeves 9 secured to the window frame, the tube 13 being dispensed with.
