453,135. Wireless receiving-apparatus. MARCONI'S WIRELESS TELEGRAPH CO., Ltd., Electra House, Victoria Embankment, and LINSELL, A. A., 80, Crystal Palace Park Road, Sydenham, both in London. March 4, 1935, No. 6808. [Class 40 (v)] In a receiver for television and sound the sound energy is received on a super-regenerative receiver and the quenching frequency is obtained from the television scanning frequency. The line frequency or a harmonic thereof may be used or a frequency multiplier may be employed to raise the scanning frequency. When a cathode ray type of television receiver is used the sound receiver is preferably in the quenched condition during the fly-back period. The super-regenerative receiver is preferably of the type described in Specification 341,786. The receiver valve grids may be connected by a resistance 3 to the ends of which may be connected directly a pair of deflecting plates or coils or alternatively a transformer may be used and tuned to a harmonic of the deflecting potential. Adjustment of the tapping to the cathodes allows the relative periods of regeneration and quenching to be adjusted while an adjustable condenser 28 or choke 27 permits the time of quenching relative to the instantaneous position of the scanning ray to be adjusted.
