Abstract

451,702. Inspection windows for stoves. BELLING, C. R., c/o Belling & Co., Ltd., Southbury Road, Enfield, Middlesex. Feb. 13, 1935, No. 4680. [Class 28 (i)] A cooking-oven is provided with an inspection window formed of two spaced panes of glass or like transparent material, both of which may be moved out of their normal positions independently of each other. As shown, the panes b, c are fitted in an oven door a, the pane b being held against a flange d by strips e and screws f, asbestos or like packing g being interposed. Further sealing is provided by packing h in a groove in the door, which packing also bears against the flanges i of the oven frame. The pane c is carried in a frame m in which it is held by brackets, spot welded or bolted to the frame m. The frame m is pivoted at o to the door a and is provided with a finger grip s for opening it when the milled nut r is released. The pane b may be hinged instead of, or in addition to, the pane c, or both panes may be otherwise movable or removable to allow access to the space between them. The panes may be slidable instead of hinged, and one or both of the planes may be curved instead of plane. The glass used may be that known under the Registered Trade Marks Armourplate," " Pyrex."
