401,704. Inspection-windows for stoves. UNITED GAS INDUSTRIES, Ltd., 51, Lincoln's Inn Fields, London, and BLANCHFORD, R. F., Radcliffe, Clysthydon, Devon. April 15, 1932, No. 10892. [Class 28 (i).] A cooking stove or oven has a doublepaned inspectionpanel, or panels, in its door or walls, the panel being characterized by the panes being surrounded by a frame member, or members, c' having an inwardly projecting flange c<1> which' with interposed packing e, spaces the panes b' As shown, the panel is mounted in a door frame a, an inner lining member f being secured against the inner pane band the frame c by studs d which pass through an outwardly extending flange or lugs c<2>. The panes are preferably made of highly refractory glass having a low co-efficient of expansion, e.g., glass known by the Registered Trade Marks " Pyrex " or "Armourplate." The panes b may be spaced by glass strips cemented to the panes near the edges, or one or both panes may be moulded and of increased thickness near the edges, the panes being rendered integral by reheating. The space between the panes may be evacuated.
